Hi LocalYokel thanks for the ice cream.

I'm about ready to build a feeder for my NY Hal chicks so they will quit wasting the food. Maybe similar to what you built for your quail will work.
One chick in particular will get into the feeder and act like a seed spreader. Food goes everywhere. Argh

I had it the other day but didn't share

These are my NY HAL quail....

You can see what type of feeder I am using for them right now...

I been too busy/procrastinating.
What I did was take a gallon jug and cut part way up holes for the quail to stick thier head in.
At the top, only cut it about 3/4 the way round, so you can flip it up to fill it but they can't dustbathe in it

I also stuck a speaker magnet in the bottom, so it doesn't tip.
Make sure they have a spot to dustbathe.

The NY HAL quail plastic reel feeder I only ly do half full.
Believe it or not it works.
But it is on a piece of wood I screwed to the floor of the pen so they are not always on the wire.

Last week I had to buy rocky road ice cream. I forgot how much I don't like it.
However, banana cheesecake sounds good. It actually reminds me of deep fried banana cheesecake that I tried at some fish shack while down in Daytona years ago. Funny story, but I will save it
