Does it do Celcius?
For a styro, hard to top a Hova bator
Almost 100 pages behind!!!! Yikes! How has everyone been!!!???
I'm surprised there's such a difference in the same model; mine has 3 channels molded into the bottom. Does your lid set down in the top edge, or over it? Mine fits inside; PITA to remove. Thinking of installing a handle on top if it won't interfere with anything inside...haven't scoped it out yet.The pennies resist bacterial growth, pre 82 coppers
Yessa.
has no channels in the bottom of the styro.
it's flat except for a drain hole.
The tray/liner does the water
What a day. Had feeding chores done by sun up. And then decided to build another overflow coop. 4 or 5 months ago I came up with a never used shipping crate for free, just had to go pick it up. It measured 16' long x 3.5' wide x 3' long with 16' x 3' dividers on the inside spaced at 6", all 3/4 plywood. Base was (3) 2x4 skidders, 4x4 spacers and then a 2x6 floor. Stripped the crate and split the floor at 8' and tied them together making a 7'x8' floor. Leveled it out on blocks and went to town on it. It is complete and already has chickens roosting in it. Then we got a very good start on getting everybody split back up and into their breeding pens. Still got a little work left to do there tomorrow. Needless to say, I'm gonna hit the drink.
Why did Bama get the ban?
Thank you! I am hopeful for their recovery as well.
Quote: CH!!! your bator acted up with temps since first hatch!!
you want me to go pull all those posts of yours????? nevermind not worth the time, but your thinking wrong again!! its not your bator its your room, told you to clean your closet and put it in there again!!!!

I always run 100-101 you know that!!! I never see 99 unless its lockdownI'm my coolerbator is it better to set the thermostat at 101 and click back on at 100 or set it at 100 and have it click back on at 99? It does not go in .5 increments.

I haven't been on much lately... and I miss chatting with everyone here!!!![]()
Too much stuff going on, but I'm hopefully catching up! Here's a pic of my current (chicken-related) project... which is near completion. It's set up so I can divide it into 3 separate breeding pens, or use it as a single 100 square foot pen. My next step is to install 3 separate doors on the front of the coop, so each section can be accessed individually when the dividers are in.

PS: It took over 5 minutes to upload this pic. Now I have to go do what I promised to do... cook supper. TTYL!!!![]()

awwwwww they are loving that room!!! I would love to see them close up, they blue?
I havent a clue, that temp didnt do it.Hi All, I threw 2 more hygrometers in my first incubator. Temps are steady at 100 to 101. Which to me is too high, for a 'bator with a fan. The temps in the "hatcher" are running at 99. MULTIPLE hygrometers. How can my temps be too low to cause my chicks to hatch late, or not at all?. 20 dead out of 20 set is a little extreme.
Again MY eggs hatch with no trouble, even though they hatch day 21 - 22. I've had no heat spikes, my humidity jumps around, but nothing extreme and we are very careful the last few days. I want to try to crack into these eggs to see if anyone is still alive. Should I, or should I just leave them alone ANOTHER DAY with no movement, no pips and no zipping? I'm on day 24 right now.
Thanks!
Just finished my day 14 candling. The 2 "suspect" eggs from day 10 are early quitters and removed. Still have 23 eggs going strong. The 320 Lumens is strong enough to see chicks and movement in the dark shells - I cannot see blood vessels in some of the darkest shells, but I can still see the development and movement. Lockdown on Wednesday![]()
let them in until 10-14 candleQuick question:
I had one suspect egg when I candled that I couldn't tell if there was the start of a blood ring or veins. Will it be OK (if it is a dud) sitting in the bator until day 14? Or is there a chance of it exploding?
