:lau BENNY!!! did you see my project chick images? :hugs and you have images to share from Rome? :smack wake up child!!! its not gasoline!!! this is close, not sure what you were looking at at candle, some do draw down and since you have a pip I am certain they were. Its extremely hard to guess on air cells via images, some look good and some look small to me. I have only weighed my standard eggs one time, because everyone wanted to know what weight I typically lost. So I weighed but still went by air cells to see what I reached.... the results were that I averaged 15-15% weight loss running at 100.5 until day 18. when I weighed to test what % I actually loose during my own incubation for clean healthy hatches. no clue what he does at this point, he is too busy I dont bother him. :clap see and you wanted to trash them!! oh the shame!! :lau :hugs nope just time them and wait until they absorb, you read the assist, you got this. :fl how are you feeling? :hugs so this adds to staggered hatch? :lau

Good afternoon everyone !
Just caught up, again.

On the topic of snakes, we don't have an abundance of poisonous ones here, but we do have many common garter snakes. The limestone deposits all over this area provide them with good year round habitat. Don't mind them much, they do keep the mice down, but not a big fan of picking them up and playing with them just the same.

My four lonely silkie eggs are on day 21, and don't seem to be in any rush, not even a pip yet.

As for the snow you all were mentioning, we are having a blizzard here right now. Probably the same system pushing eastward for Sally and Whites areas later this week. Enjoy!

Also, went out this morning for a drive in the weather to pick up my Auracana eggs! She gave me an extra half dozen! She said it was because a mutual friend told her I breed pure bred and heritage fowl, and she wants someone else in my area to carry on her efforts. Nice lady, and the parent stock is beautiful. Site won't let me post pics (?????) right now, but I will post them as soon as I can.

Go Broncos! Sorry Louly :lau

OK, so leave them at 98.5/65%, hope for the best, and leave them to do what they're going to do, right?

it says lay them horizontal for hatching.helps hatch an hour or two early.I know you said put them in cartons.but I don't know.I have never done it.and I don't want some to not hatch if they pip on the wrong end in the cartons.

its ok for styro?   where do you get it?

I've used it on styrofoam, any good brewing supply shop or on line. It is highly acidic so gloves are necessary if you use it for too long. Drys up the hands. I use a spray bottle. Instructions call for dipping of some equipment. Spraying has worked for me on brewing equipment and the guys at the brewery have a spray bottle on hand at all times between handling equipment
