they will always have it and be carriers, it passes through eggs, and to any new birds you bring in. First time is the worst and subsequent illness when it comes out at times if stress.
If you hatch in a Bator away from your flock you may be able to use a med like the one my vet gave me for ms to give days one to five in the chicks water to help ones that will join your flock.

Pretty much, yeah. Trying to talk her into the "high hair" thing again...so much hair spray it was good & stiff
