Why wouldn't you have just pitched it all the first time?I've dumped it three times. Each time, I throw away something else.
Why would you throw away something that you might have a use for in 15-20 years? Why wouldn't you have just pitched it all the first time?
Nothing respiratory. I've been giving it drops of poly vi sol and water with the vitamin/electrolyte solution for a week now. Is that just not enough e? It's been in the brooder with it's hatch mates until I isolated it. They're all fine.Other than the swelling, any signs of respiratory illness? FWIW, my chicks looked a lot like your chick, except they didn't have any facial swelling. What has this chick been eating? Any chance it got into rancid feed? -Kathy -KathyVideo@campingshaws , last year i had two chicks and I think they had a vitamin e deficiency. Gave Vitamin e for two days and they got better. http://www.merckvetmanual.com/mvm/p..._poultry/vitamin_deficiencies_in_poultry.html http://www.thepoultrysite.com/publications/6/diseases-of-poultry/218/vitamin-e-deficiency/ Can you post a video? -KathyPics of face:![]()

Majority of the time if you see someone trying to sell you "Americana" birds, they're really selling you EEs and think you're too dumb to notice they spelled the breed name wrong. Either that or they legitimately have Ameraucanas and they just can't spell. But yeah, a lot of people get ripped off by thinking they got a pure Araucana or Ameraucana and in reality they came home with an EE.Are they misrepresenting it or giving it their own nane for a cross like golden comment/golden comet/...
Heartland Hatchery spells it that way too, but mcmurrayhatcheries says Aruacana/Ameruacana.Quote:To treat for MG, which I am thinking is influencing fertility rates. The roos have it the worst, and I think it prevents them from breeding as they start wheezing if they run after a hen.
Quote:Yeah, those are EE's passed as AM's, the spelling bugs me to NO END though. Wish they wouldn't misinform buyers.
Quote:THAT bugs me like crazy...

I don't think Poly Vi Sol has enough E.Nothing respiratory. I've been giving it drops of poly vi sol and water with the vitamin/electrolyte solution for a week now. Is that just not enough e?

From my understanding, the American Poultry Association only recognizes the spellings Ameraucana and Araucana. Now it doesn't really matter if you're just wanting blue eggs, but for people who want showbirds and purebred birds it's something you should pay attention to.Heartland Hatchery spells it that way too, but mcmurrayhatcheries says Aruacana/Ameruacana.
