Oh, but one of us has won the lottery...ME!  Matter of fact, I've won every one of them for years. I keep my $$ in my pocket, so I'm automatically a winner simply from breaking even, which is more than 99.9999% of lottery players can say.

My old boss won 32 million more than 20 years ago, but still, they were the sole winners.  The deli that I shop at won close to 100 million.  I also know someone that survived being hit by lightning.  I think my odds are better that I'll be hit by lightning, but I still start a pool at the office every time it climbs over 200 million.

6 eggs have hatched and 4 pips left time to get ready for work they will all be out when I get home in 12 hours then warm up the brooder ... And get ready for the next batch of eggs to go in

Go chickies GO!!!   Congrats ona successful hatch!

Oh, forgot to ask... Does anyone else want the microwave brownie recipie? Or should I just post it here for all to enjoy? :D

I do, I do!!!!

[@=/u/39565/Jessimom]@Jessimom[/@] I wish they had all hatched well, but congratulations on the ones that made it.

I sold my hens to people who knew would be carriers and promised they just wanted eggs and would not breed and spread it. I culled a hen and the two roosters including my beautiful Lavender Orpington because I couldn't trust that someone would not breed the Lavenders given what they sell for.

I only kept a group of seven chicks from Christmas and six from January that were never out with the others, and that I changed and washed before doing anything with them. The Christmas chicks went out Sunday to my mobile coop that has been unused since October. I have been working hard to get it fully enclosed with hardware cloth. I only have a small gap left above the door that needs the current wire covered to do tomorrow.

I am getting a bunch of new chicks tomorrow from a hatchery that ship today, and I have eggs in the incubator. The first group went on lockdown today.

The rebuilding begins. No eggs till the Christmas chicks start.

Thank you!!!   I am SO sorry you went through all that.  I can't even imagine having to start over.  But, it sounds like you did what was best for all.  I wish you the best of luck going forward!

*hugs best of luck!!! I hope you never have to deal with it again

My Incuview arrived! I can't wait to play with it and get it up and running! Just in time, too, because I saw my new tom mating with my Sweetgrass hen, so I think she might start to lay eggs soon.

In the meantime, I am running a practice batch of chicken eggs in a styrofoam cooler-bator I made over the weekend. (I didn't want to run a test hatch in the Incuview, and then have it occupied when the turkey eggs are ready.) Plus I was kind of curious to see if I could make a diy that really works, so I just did it.

When you get your incuview up and running, let me know how you do?  I've heard great things from other people with Incuviews, but mine has been renamed the "death bator".  I can't seem to get the egg turner to work.  It says to set it up the way you want, then unplug it and then plug it back in to turn those settings on.  Still not working.  Temps and humidity stay stable, but I don't trust it.  The problems very well MIGHT be in my styrafoam bator (I've only used it for Lock down).  Before I give up, I'm setting eggs from day 1 in it, to see how it does.  I wish you MUCH better luck!!!!!

Here yall are! Enjoy! :D
@Sally Sunshine

Makes 9-12 brownies

1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter, melted
3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup cocoa

In a bowl, beat sugar, eggs, vanilla, and salt. Add butter, beat until blended. Combine flour and cocoa in seperate bowl, than gradually add to sugar mixture. Mix well. Transfer to microwave safe 8 inch dish. Microwave uncovered on high for 3-4 minutes, or until brownie sticks to your finger when touched.
Note: very good when made gluten-free also.

@Ur-ur-ur-urrr I saw you have an IncuView, and I was wondering about how accurate your temp is. My thermometer, which I believe is completely accurate, reads 97-98, and the IncuView stays around 99.5. I don't know which to trust. Anyone have a great type of thermometer I can use in the incubator? I'm using a National Heographic thermometer and hygrometer, both are probes.

I would trust which ever one is calibrated
