He looks alive and well to me... Certainly fulla spunk, and a great flock protector... When I grabbed the frostbit roo off the perch and he started flapping, he jumped down and started attacking me to save the other roo, lol... I was wearing a different coat, so thats why he got hot and bothered. It still earned him a swift kick in the ribs.

they appear fine then the next time I check they are listless and sprawl under the heat some with there wings out. By the next check they are dead.

I hate to write this, but I honestly think I need to. From what I saw in the pic, and this description I believe the chicks are dying from heat exposure. They can't regulate their body temperature until they've feathered out, and with the light like it is, they're either too cold or too hot stuck around the perimeter. Some of the chicks may be able to handle this a little better than others, and it should be the chicks with the most feathers. Fix the light so the chicks are underneath it without huddling and chirping, and the temp will be just right. Just my 2c...
