Opinions needed. want to introduce blue egg genes. I have Ameruacana hatching the 14/15. I also have an option to buy a pair of rupless Aruacana for fifty or just the cock. Which is going to be better for blue egg genes in crosses?

A true Ameraucana would be a better sire, as long as he is from a line that lays blue, not greenish eggs. Rumpless birds often have fertility issues, seem the tail helps a lot with balance.
Another great option would be a Cream Legbar. It really depends on what other traits you are trying to fix because those birds are so different in many other traits. Obtain the blue egg laying bird that is closest to what other traits you are breeding for, getting rid of a pea comb, for instance, is a lot more work than just starting with a Legbar.

@nuklee0 :hit so sorry. Don't give up

Thanks! I'm not giving up. Already have 12+ eggs in there again.

This is my third hatch only and this has been my worst hatch ever so actually I'm wondering if my thermometers/hygrometers are off. Anyone know any easy way to calibrate them?
