ANYWHO! I have three chicks out and one more pipped! One was a bleeder but looks ok now. Two eggs still have no sign of hatching.

Not likely anymore. I think it's the same with many breeds of chickens: breeders will work on quality and claim hatcheries will only work on quantity. Hatcheries will probably still produce a number of quality birds.

The way you were talking about the local ones I wasn't sure. I might have to try and find some around here.
