The eggs have reached Day 4 without oozing or looking too awful. ACs are still pretty bad in 8 of the 15. I saw a few embryos as i candled them before setting them up the microwave turner. The timer is set for 9 times a day. I'm worried that will somehow fail. I held my breath when I tested it. Hopefully the eggs stay put. As long as I don't have to open the incubator so often and the eggs turn more often each day I'll be happy. I may have to change the settings.
I sent an email to inkbird about the thermostat. I have no idea what's wrong with it. If I get my next set of eggs as soon as I expect I'll be frustrated without that incubator set up.

We did that with the other two thermometers but haven't put the wireless digital one in baggies and done that one yet.  Dinner preps took priority!     But I will.  The glass one that came in the incubator has a gap in the liquid inside....just the tiniest bit of it is way up at the tippy top and the rest of it is where it's supposed to be...it's separated.  That's even after doing the hot water thing to get it to "reconnect" three times.  I'm about ready to put a baby rectal thermometer in there and call it good!     But I'm persistent.  Got a call late this afternoon that there's a problem with the eggs I ordered so I have a little time here.  You are all going to get so sick of me!  


Edited to add: Not "was a smoker" Sally. "Is" a smoker. Been trying since last month's heart attack and stenting to get off them.  Some days are good, most not so good.  But as I said, I'm persistent.  Started when I was 13, and 65 now, so it's not like a 2 year habit I"m trying to break.

I was cured of smoking when at the age of 13 I tried an old cigar butt that I found in the streets. First and last singular puff I ever took. I going to pray that your experience with them from here out is as gosh awful as that was for me. What my parents didn't know.

Just getting in the house. Get lotsa work done after this god forsaken time change. Hate the winter change. Wife said she can tell the time change is in effect. She said the Bud Light consumption has gone up. LOL. Wow, only been 3 days.

Anyway, will start loading incubators this week out of the 10 breeding pens plus the ducks. We've got Enough broody Cochins that I could probably divvy them out and still have some left. Another couple tons of chicken feed coming in tomorrow. They are going on summer ration which is 14.8% protein. I'm down in the back and have been for a few days. Another privilege the military granted me. Beat down and the govt doesn't stand behind it. Anyway, gonna mix a Jack and Coke so I can have a drink with my Sunshine.

He indeed does have the Congestive Heart failure and has lived already over twice as long as they gave him. He's stubborned like that tho!

Pops has been discharged. They got all the fluid out of his cavity and lungs. They refilled all his meds and gave him some other meds for the Pneumonia he still has.

He's very tired and is on his way home now.
