I have a mean rooster (never attacked me, but won't hesitate to attack anyone else). I quit hatching eggs because of it. I do think there is a chance that the rooster passes on aggression. His days are numbered

Woke up to a fluffy olive egger and a white leghorn, I have four more visible pips! So 6 pipped, 36 to go! Lol

I have a couple like that, but most of them will just stand there while I scoop them up! The dogs are now part of the pecking order, and the chickens have been integrated into the pack. It's kind of a mess here...

Yea but it sounds like the mess works for them.

Good morning Dax yes interesting management has decided that they are going to change the way I've been doing my job. One small detail, they haven't brought this up to the owners yet. Owners put the skids to that 17 years ago. It's going to be a fun meeting.

Oh yes, and even though my big grow out pen is full, and my little outdoor chick coop is full, and u have chicks in my SHOWER (gotta do what you gotta do! Lol...I have another shower lol) I am picking up my LAST bought chicks of the season- 5 Dom pullets. Lol chick madness over here

I think there is much more to it than mean rooster passes mean genes. While we do inherit traits from our parents, and learn from them, we still all have our own personalities, and are capable of making different decisions. I just wonder if they inherit their personality traits from the hen or the rooster...
