I got a notice on the mail the other day days I'm a finalist in a drawing the local radio station is having....it's for a New Kodiak 700 four wheeler.....grand prize drawing is tomorrow night. Free dinner and door prizes too....there's like 20 other finalist so my chances aren't great....but will be a nice time anyway and I'm not going there all with great expectations anyway.

Well, have fun. I have wone a maybe five dollar item, but nothing big. Good luck. .

Thank you @kwhites634 , @Fire Ant Farm , @MotorcycleChick , @perchie.girl , and @lazy gardener and any others that I might have missed regarding the comments on rooster aggression. We will see how it goes. I definitely plan to keep a closer eye on him when he is out.

Is the thought that the aggression will actually be passed on genetically or is it through training from the older rooster. While he is my only confirmed rooster I have 22 chicks ranging from 2 days to around 2 months. Based on the ratios discussed yesterday I should have at least 1 rooster in that mix. Unfortunately, all but 5 are from him.

Afternoon y'all. Looks like i need to trim Duchess' wing feathers again, she's getting out and the only way i can imagine she is is by flying out again. Did everything I could to reinforce the bottom of the run so no one can dig out, and that's the only option that I think is left.

Bluebell gave another egg, which I'm happy about since I was sure that she was just too young and not just barren. Today or tomorrow I'm going to pull out the car jack and relevel the coop, it's all kinds of cattywampus and needs leveled if I'm going to repair it. Husband is just not wanting to rebuild and so i'm going to prove a point and show him that it's more expensive to repair the one we have than it is to just build a new one.

I have a couple like that, but most of them will just stand there while I scoop them up! The dogs are now part of the pecking order, and the chickens have been integrated into the pack. It's kind of a mess here...

Well crud!!!! Hubby went to check on everyone this morning and one of my barred rocks was just laying dead in the coop. No reason that we can see - everyone else is acting fine - happy, healthy...she was just dead as a door nail. No signs of trauma or issues. Hmmm.

I had a six week old Welsummer pullet do that early this month. It is weird when there are no signs or symptom.

I would rather win a tractor if I dream. I can't afford one, but it gets harder every year to push the round bales around. I am going to try to get a bale buggy this year if I can find a used one.
