Nope, I have gone out of my way to acquire non-related stock.

It has to be the temps. I have tried to get them correct. It is so frustrating. I just don't know if they are too high or too low.

I spritz with water once a day up until the final days.

If you have a good hatch rate with chickens, it's not likely the incubator or temperatures.

I did and I think I am close. Most were way off but one was only .2 C off so I try to rely on that one. You would think that with the prices of incubators, the companies could do a lot better job in designing and constructing them.

My hubby just got back from the PO with my Cackle chicks! I'm happy to report they are all alive and appear to be in pretty good shape. A couple look like they had a rough trip, but I think they'll be okay. Of course I have some dirty butts to deal with, but that's to be expected. Still not happy with the hatchery's lack of communication, but it is what it is. Here are some pictures I snapped after I got everyone settled in. After they've had some time to recover, I'll go out and start cleaning tushies (oh joy!).

Little nekkid necks, which I think are absolutely adorable and my husband thinks (and I quote) are "yuck".

"Duckling" ( the human variety) is the star of the show in this house. She's looks like she's gonna be a real heartbreaker in several years.

BTW, I heard on Jim Bohannon's show early this morning about a 12 yr. old girl who's been formally charged with assault for pinching a guy's backside in the school hallway, and is either in or heading to juvenile detention.

What's this screwed-up society come to, and where's it headed?

A friend of mine had a silkie, cochin, serama cross rooster with a varied flock of bantams, including silkies.
She had him trained to round up his flock and move them whenever she told him to.

How did she manage that?
