Alright all , i gotta go do some gardening check in later :) have fun

I'd have to dig up 18" of snow to get to my garden...:th

Need one of this?

I'm sure low self esteem has a lot to do with it.

What store are you going to?
Any feed store should have 40 or 50 lb. bags of starter.
IMHO, there won't be a tremendous difference between mannapro and any other brand.
They'll all have all the nutrients chicks are known to need in the correct ratios.

Ok sounds good - we've got tractor supply and a local feed store to choose from here in town. Just didn't know if there was anything people preferred or disliked compared to others. Thank you!

My local MFA makes a 50lb starter for 10.50, and Feed stores and TSC have 50lb Purina, Durmor, or ADM feed $13-16.

Ok I'll check it out...typically I go to TSC more often

Define good chick feed? TSC (at least my local ones) carry Purina Chick Starter in a 25 lb (?) bag, they also carry Dumor or whatever there off brand is. Since I have more than one type of fowl I feed everybody Purina Flock Raiser so I only have to buy one type of feed for everybody.

So flock raiser will work for all ages?

I'd been feeding mannapro chick feed but it only comes in the dinky 5lb bags and we blow through those immediately with how many little mouths there are to feed.

Any recommendations on any good chick feed I can get in LARGE bags at a decent price??

Good chick feed:
1-1.5 % Calcium
19% or more protein.
All the trace elements an vitamins

Yes and because it doesn't have the extra calcium of a layer feed if you feed it to older birds you'll need to provide calcium.

Than by that definition I feed a good feed. :D

I feed Purina for the first 10-12 weeks and then I switch to the local feed.

@ChickenCanoe Here is the chicken in question. I have never had an olive egger and some say pullet and some rooster. What do you think?

The sickled feathers in its tail indicate rooster! Sorry
