Today is day 22 there are still 7 eggs in incubator that have done nothing and 3 with pipping.
Incubator #2 chicken eggs from a friend and my backyard flock goes into lockdown tonight
Incubator #3 chicken from my backyard flock eggs lockdown 4/26 and 5 turkey eggs from a friend to hatch in May

great hatch, three pipped is great news to add to that number!!! Good luck with the incoming eggs!!! did you ask how you wish them collected and shipped?
Vent sexings within the first 7 days is the BEST way to sex a duckling. Ducklings will still look and sound the same until they are about 2-2 1/2 months old. Then, at that age you will be able to voice sex them. The females will sound loud when they quack (usually all you have to do is pick them up to get them to quack) and the males will be more quiet and raspy sounding. Then, around 3 months, the males will start to develop their sex feather. This is a small curly feather at the base of their tail (sometimes they can get 2-3 curly feathers).
Hello everyone I am way behind on all of my threads it is so hard to stay caught up with life and byc. I have hatched geese and chicks so far this month and have more hatching every monday and then a few on some off days I just got a incuview xl cabinet incubator and will be hatching in it from now on.
Quote: How old was the chick? By day ten they are supposed to absorb their yolks, so for some reason your's did not. Sally has a great article on "mushy chick disease", so I'd read that. If they did their job, they will send samples off for cultures and sensitivity testing, but those will take a few more days.
