Not to mention that gas weed eaters suck unless you want to spend a fortune on one.
I lived in Samoa MANY years ago. I drove by a school on my way to work. Not a lot of cars would drive by, so the kids would always wave (school room was just a floor and a roof, no walls).Awesome. My dad has one with a curved handle, It has 2 blades. One is long, like the guy in the video is using, and the other one is shorter and wider, straight on the cutting edge for cutting brush. I love that thing. Gives a huge abd work out. And I agree, scything in the sun is not a fun thing. Also need to be on the look out for yellow jacket nests!

This is the tool for brush.
My dad wanted me to cut some brush and bought a heavy duty gas brush machine with blades with a strap that hangs around your neck. After about 5 minutes of use I told him to take it back. It shook me to death and didn't cut much. I used the brush hook and got the job done in no time.
3rd person is the "innocent" bystander who over hears something that wasn't intended for them. Chaos hit the nail on the head earlier but I cant seem to find it to add the quote.
Well than my tuesday will be better than your monday............I hope. If people around the conversation hear the conversation and get offended by the conversation ya know what they can do? Butt out of the conversation that wasn't including them in the first place and mind there own dang business.![]()
Machetes are a wicked useful tool.I lived in Samoa MANY years ago. I drove by a school on my way to work. Not a lot of cars would drive by, so the kids would always wave (school room was just a floor and a roof, no walls).
Anytime the classroom was empty, you would see all the kids out in the field with Machetes chopping down all the greenery. From 4 years olds to teens, they'd be out there chopping away.
I would think anything would be easier than machetes to do what they were doing.
Machete is the tool of choice in Central America and Mexico. They have much better machetes than what we have here. I used one for all kinds of jobs in Costa Rica. I even made a new food processing table with one making new legs.I lived in Samoa MANY years ago. I drove by a school on my way to work. Many third world countries only have two tools. The axe and the machete. With those two they can build whatever they need to get through life.Machete is the tool of choice in Central America and Mexico. They have much better machetes than what we have here. We always used them when I was growing up. One of our neighbors had another neighbor sharpen it for him. When asked how sharp he wanted it, he said as sharp as he could get it. If he hit his leg, he wanted it to come off cleanly, not just left dangling.
