Sounds like a plan.
Since pool is played in bars, one would expect obnoxious drunks but there is very little of that. The Missouri 8 rules play a part. Talking while people are shooting is frowned upon. You're only allowed to speak with a single teammate twice during your game. These guys are way too serious for me but I'm enjoying my first ever pool league.
Tomorrow is our second bye week of the pool season. Then 2 weeks left. If we stay in sole possession of first place, we can avoid the playoffs and go straight to tournament play.

I think cats are amazing. I love INDOOR housecats. I hate outdoor cats. They have no safe harbor here.

I'm confused. Do you have x-ray vision? How can you see if eggs are pipping under a setter?

You tell us that you know what you are doing. However, if you keep moving setting hens off of their eggs, you clearly DON'T know what you are doing. A setting hen knows more about incubating eggs innately, than you will ever know if you do it your whole life.

I get pretty good hatches with broodies. (sadly none have gone broody yet this year) But, I never touch the hen or eggs. She sits, I keep food and water available and in 3 weeks, I get chicks. It really is that simple. I've never candled an egg under a hen.

Have you read any of Oz's diary? He had a bad ant problem 'til he set the legs under his 'bators & brooders in buckets of water. @ozexpat

I do that on most of my hives. When I set up swarm traps high in the tree, a couple days later it is filled with huge black ants.

Ants are bad in the tropics. I got to where I just ignored them in Costa Rica. Tiny ones are always on kitchen counters. Good protein I guess.
Army ants are a real trip. They're nomadic and don't live in an anthill. Rather than a permanent nest, they build a living nest called a bivouac out of their bodies, older ones on the outside, young on the inside.They eat everything in their path. They occasionally conduct raids into homes. People just move out for the day. The ants will find and consume any other insects, spiders and rodents. Then they move out and you're left with a home devoid of critters.

The army raid will seek out and capture mostly spiders and insects, such as caterpillars, millipedes, cockroaches, or katydids. The army will attack other ant colonies and wasp nests. Vertebrates with any speed are usually able to escape these predators, but when given the opportunity the ants will pursue frogs, lizards and snakes.

Wow. I had a staggered hatch with only one egg scheduled to hatch so I decided to test not going into lock down... Temp was steady at 100.4 and humidity was 10% and the chick hatched just fine!

Why? If there's a problem, there's nothing you can do. Let nature take its course. Not all creatures were meant to survive. That's life.
