So last night two chicks had hatched and I had three more external pips and THE POWER WENT OUT. Ugh! I NEVER lose power! Our entire county lost power due to the main tva line breaking. In a panic, I drove the incubator to a friend's home in a neighboring county with the heat blasting in the car the entire way. Between the power loss at the house and the car ride, the incubator was off for about 45 mins. She just called and said I have four chicks this morning! Thank goodness! I am getting ready to go check on them now! Hope to see more progress... We have power here this morning, but I guess I won't be able to get them home until I'm sure everyone is done hatching

Glad you dodged the bullet.
You should stop by your local auto parts store for a power converter. They plug into an accessory port (where cigarette lighters did before everyone went Politically Correct) and convert DC power to AC. Plug the 'bator in; it'll run off the car battery.

Over 100 chickens, 2 turkeys, 4 ducks, 9 geese and then 2 quail. I also have pheasant hatching eggs in my incubator and eggs from everything above in the incubator.
