INCUBATING w/FRIENDS! w/Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs No problem!

I have some lavender orpington eggs in my incubator. Quick question. So today is day 18 and I'll be doing lockdown tonight. I'm going to candle again tonight but I'm pretty sure I've only got one viable egg in there. If only one chick hatches, could that be a problem for the chick? I know they are flock animals and don't do well alone. Any advice?

Yes it will desire company.

Stuffed animal, mirror, and a lot of interaction on your part would help. Or you could find a few chicks the same size to add with it.

I'd put a small mirror in the brooder. The chick (if one hatches) will think it's another chick. Then I'd see if I could get a few more close to the same age ASAP...maybe TSC or feed store.

It needs to be dark chocolate or you can keep it.
