Okay, y'all, here we go

12 eggs, day 7, 1st candling

3-4 have air cells pretty much where they should be
In the rest, the AC's take up half the egg

I'm guessing the humidity being all over the map for several days is the culprit.
I've been trying to keep it around 35%, but it's been 40% or more, even up to 50% for extended periods more than once

I can't find in the notes how to correct the problem, but I'm thinking I need to run way below normal RH & see if they straighten out.
That sound right, or am I bass-akwards?

Didn't want to leave the lid off any longer, but I can get a couple pics, maybe, if the description above isn't enough.

Are the other 8 more porous letting moisture out too soon. 4 being good rest not so good sounds porous. How did they look at first.

Quote: Yeah, it's the Cream Legbars (early maturing, and were crowing at 3 weeks) and the German New Hampshires (also early maturers). The other boys (Marans, olive eggers, and one lavender ameraucana) have no idea what all the fuss is about yet...

When this happened to me (found it at day 14), it was because my hygrometer wasn't calibrated, but also some of the eggs were more porous (that may be some of why that's happening). Nonetheless, Joey told me to run a higher humidity and candle every few days to check that the Acs weren't getting any bigger (though half the egg already at 7 days sounds really bad to me).
