Hmm. Im confused also. I only had community tanks. I had one that had a tiger Oscar just over 12" and I had to do a few rounds of salt treatments in that one with no issues. I cant remember the ratio I used though. Big thing to remember is as it mentions will be the fact that the salt does not evaporate. Only way to reduce the salinity will be with water changes.

Reading it wrong. It's saying that you shouldn't use salt on a regular basis with African Cichlids.
