Here is the 2nd incubator but the one I started all eggs out in.

I'm sure it's my fault eggs not doing great. I bought too many so I just placed them in this one on top of the other eggs till my new incubator got here. Stupid I'm sure.

Not necessarily, sometimes they just get to scrambled in shipping.
 
What is culling?

I keep reading it on the forum but unsure what it means?

It's not a good idea to have too many cockerels in a flock.. A lot of people will cull them for meat or to keep the hens healthy. There are lots of ways to tell if you have a cockerel depending on breed.
