Hi all! I am out of the loop since I've been working on the coop!

I've had a really miserable hatch and I thought I might rant a bit here... Got 2 dozen eggs shipped beautifully - not a single egg broken, all FBCM.

Of those, I have 4 live chicks, 2 that died during the hatch, 3 that died in the egg after lockdown, and of the rest about 12 didn't develop at all, and the rest seem to have gotten to day 7, but I didn't notice any veining.

The dozen that did not develop were extremely porous, and I was thinking that the hens might not have had enough calcium, but the 3 that died after lockdown had extremely hard shells, so that may have been the problem for them.

I wish that my little Bielefelder roo would mature quickly! He is 14.5 weeks old, and my Bielefelder hens are 11 months old.

Any clue when he will be considered mature? He has been crowing for a week!

My crested cream legbar pair are just 9 weeks old, so that will be a long wait. I am really not patient!
If the coop os all done there should be some pics. Sorry you had a bad hatch. I'm unsure of maturity rate of Bielefelder.

CCL. This 'un and the wellie wouldn't sit still for good pics.

Sapphire, I put triple antibiotic ointment on her and she smeared it, so that's why she looks funny.

Ok so yesterday volunteered at my vets office. I had a pretty good day started by making sure all the cloths were clean then gave a dog a bath. Watched a few pets get shots. And then the fun part I got to watch a dog get spayed except I got sick at the sight of all the blood and nearly passed out. So after regaining my head I watched the vet removed 2 cists off of a daschund. After that we had lunch and had to make a farm call for a sick horse. The horse had a twisted intestine and had to be put to sleep which was very sad. Then went back to the vet office and had a few more get shots and had to trim a rabbits teeth also had a dental cleaning on one. But that just about sums up my day yesterday. I am hoping to go back soon.
I have a few dogs that need baths haircuts, weighed, fea tick treatments, one spay is needed, nine pups that need nails cut health check ups weighing and wormings, and we also need many images of each pup if you have time as well, I have birds that need ivermectin and powdered, I also need blood draw on all my flock, I have ducks and geese that need hindy scrapes to send in too lol. Oh and the adults dogs are due for distemper if you want to do that as well. and sammy the conure may need his head checked he doesnt know how to shut up and his nails and beak should be looked at too.
