I have an issue My project birds, the Males seem to have way to long legs or should I say skinny? for that heavy body and they all end up this way. I have grown out six now and I am purely frustrated. I love the hens are so pretty and lay such nice colored Huge eggs, but the meat end I am not sure about for the cockerels. They can make it to butcher but I want and need to breed back at some point again and I am not sure about doing that with legs like this... so confusing at this point!! But maybe instead of eating them all out of frustration I let one grow out past a year and see what I have? not sure that will change anything but if he dont get major leg issues I would be happy. I never weighed in the last ones we processed, but he already stands almost as tall as the giant brahma and he certainly puts them in their place too.

Are you building a barred utility bird? What's the project
