My speed reading skills are great, thanks to this thread!I'm so sorry - I've had chicks who looked like that when that young, and lost them. Sometimes it's not meant to be.![]()
Go chickies!!!
Ummmmmm.... I've sort of already found a breeder within about 20-30 minutes of me... Ummmm.... And I've sort of already contacted her and may put my name down on her wish list once I can make sense of the kidding schedule for next year...

e We know you're a very safe driver. It's when you stop - if you can just not step out into a pot hole and twist your ankle...
This is so beautiful!!!! You'll either develop speed reading skills or you'll go nuts and or give up on the thread.
Oh, geez - some of mine (the Cream Legbars) started at 3 weeks. All of EHAL group are crowing now at 9 weeks.

MORGANS?? Here I come!!@MotorcycleChick you two need to come up and stay, we can have a play date and i am looking to get more property too so we can start our business venture with our morgans
CLs are not cuddly chicks in my experience, but they are great chickens. The best way to this about them is to compare them to cats (vs. dogs). They are curious, and like people, but they like to come to YOU, on their own terms. It's actually kind of hilarious...CL boys grow up to be fantastic roosters with regards to doing their job (caring for and super protective of their hens - really good boys this way), but NOT cuddle roosters - some would argue that the cuddly rooster of any breed is the exception, and that cuddling them when they are young can lead to anti-human aggression later. Not sure how old your daughter is, but for cuddling, pullets are better to get attached to - boys of any breed can turn in to monsters when they get older (really hard to predict who will, too). Alas, I have learned not to get (too) attached to ANY boys, since I have learned the hard way that I may need to pull the plug on them later, and don't allow them any lap time after about 6-8 weeks old.
Even little Goodwin, whom I have named and plan to keep, is on the same probation any boy is - turn into a jerk or try to attack me, and that's it. - Ant Farm (edited to correct "who" to "whom". Banti may be watching...

never wake a sleeping child! unless it is getting late or she's been asleep for 1.5 hours-ishI think everyone has seen the Youtube video of ducklings going down a water slide. I am wondering if my ducks will. I plan on making a water slide for Duckling... If I ever wake her from her nap. Tell me again why I want her to wake? She will be in a rotten mood.
