Hey quick question. I am incubating Maran eggs and was wondering if they need a different humidity in lockdown for a better hatch rate. Anyone with Marans please help.

I think [@=/u/162672/Sally-Sunshine]@Sally Sunshine[/@] said they lose weight faster so maybe a higher humidity

Well after having poison ivy on my face you would think I'd be smart. Welllll I'm not I have poison ivy all over both of my arms.

I actually didn't have much humidity with them as they were in a incubator alone I think it was less than 40% the whole time.

For people who do staggered hatches. If you had eggs set 1 day apart would it be better to start lockdown a day early or a day late? Thanks.

Hatch day for HennyPenny II and Reynbow's chicks is in 2 days!

(That is, if they are alive. Never checked them. I hope so, because HennyPenny has been broody for over two months now)

I only left here once lol for a weekend, all went well and that was with a 22 year old son looking over things lmao

I also have some very important turkey eggs due to hatch Thursday while I am gone so they will have to lock the down but my sister helps me quite a bit with feeding and incubating and today I gave her a run through of how to do everything so I pray it all goes well.

I think incubating such large quantities of eggs are making me mentally unstable.

I wish I could use that excuse, but it happened long before incubation

I'd go with a day early cause you don't want the early ones to hatch in the turner.
