I need to get goats, but don't have the room right now. That's what it always comes down to!
I actually have the room (technically), though I would need to pick a site for the shelter and build it. What I really don't have right now is time. This whole hatching thing has left me with a LOT of chickens (funny how the happens!!!!) I need to get the final housing/dispositoins/families set up, streamline the chicken chores (GOT to do something about the watering, currently hauling a LOT of water by hand, NOT sustainable, though it's great weightlifting exercise), and get the numbers down once some decisions are made. THEN I can get goats. I'm hoping next year, but if not, then the following year. So I'm reading a lot and planning in the meanwhile...

when you finally get them and fall for them, you be like..... Why the bleep didnt I just get them right away? I could be milking by now! lmao
Well, I've been saved from myself because the babies at the breeder I want to use are all sold. I'm thinking next spring, and putting my name on a waiting list. That's almost a year away, so I think I can be ready by then - hopefully.
I'm ok with putting off the milking for a little bit, because I need to be able to fit twice a day milking at consistent times into my work schedule.
