Good morning. Not sure how old to eat bantam roosters. For LF usually try to do them around the 16-20 week range so they are still tender but have good size to them.

Probably the same age. They're only going to get so big no matter how old they get.
If a raccoon can find meat on them, so should we.

Fresh manure. Rather than carting away the bedding a few weeks ago, I just shoved it out into the run. Lots of rain and fresh manure on top has it smelling ripe when I till. Not otherwise.

I get it. Can you turn it in place?
When manure or bedding get very wet, it kills the aerobic bacteria. When the anaerobic bacteria takes over the smell is nasty. Turning it gets air infiltrated and the good bacteria takes over again.

Don't be too offended with what they are drinking. I was still filling the other bowl.
And I am not forgetting the chicks can drown. However, they are five-weeks-old, and should know better by now!

You sure that the lime you got from Lowes wasn't hydrated? What you want is ag lime (aka garden lime)

It does. Or did. We have had a lot of rain lately. And I have nine ducks now! Nine. Wet. Ducks!

Any nylon I've ever torched gets super hot and drips as it melts; be extremely careful not to let it drip on your skin, unless you don't mind losing that bit of skin...bad as hot tar.

I don't need the skin anyway, I have too much.
