The trap is really simple to make and does not need to be five gallons. Just depends on how bad the wasp problem is.
Take a bucket, piece of wire, small piece of meat and liquid dish soap. Skewer the meat through the wire attach wire across bucket with meat in center just above the water but not touching water. fill bucket with water put liquid soap in water. Put the trap in a place where animals won't eat the meat. Stand back and watch it's amazing. Wasp eat meat too heavy to fly straight up so they dip into soapy water and presto drown. Soap displaces the water surface so they can't get out. Couple squirts of soap will do. Not too much needed. Tablespoon is more than enough

Well, that was fun. My flock was wiped out the last few nights. I'm assuming fox. Every last one is gone.
I should amend that. I sold thirty six Saturday.
The rest were then taken by the fox.
Maybe next year I can try again.

@DwayneNLiz Yeah, I hatched silkie/giant crosses also, they're all acounted for and all have five toes and black skin.
This is definitely a white giant runt. Dang it's hard taking pics of chics with a phone. It actually looks much smaller in person when they're all runnin around.
Ugghh, phones not cooperating to post pics, have to try desktop mode....

Doesn't appear that any of them have silkie feathering, but only the wing feathers are out so far. Only a couple of them have feathers on their legs.

Fresh and I've used several types. From hot dog to bacon. Anything that will skewer. Doesn't have to be much meat either. 1 inch long by 1/2 inch thick. At first you'll be resetting the trap. Be careful when you do. I used to have two wires one to replace the other. Once the hive knows it's there they'll be visiting quite often. Don't worry about the ones that get away they'll be back.

Hi Sally, just doing house and animal stuff today. Gotta go get a load of hay and a bunch of poultry feed, set more pea eggs, get hatcher and brooder ready for pea eggs that are on day 24 and 25, do a necropsy, you know, the usual stuff, lol. How about you?
