I had one rooster strutting around this morning (no, I do not have them properly locked up). I thought it was my main rooster until my main rooster crowed. None of the boys sound like him yet. It just proves to me that I really do have to be careful when grabbing the boys for the processing pen.
My main rooster is looking a little bad. All the boys trying to stand up to him is apparently getting to him.
 
Morning! I'm up - getting a good dose of coffee in before starting the catch and cull.

I wish I was up this early on a weekend because I was going fishing instead....

Guess what I get to do?
I get to go to my pantry of canned (by me) goods, and get out a jar of actual chicken broth. I kept thinking, "when am I going to use all this broth? I should just dump it." Well, now I have it to drink (thank you Whites for reminding me) since I can't have my coffee.
My point is, because I can (as in canned goods, not I am able), I get to reap the benefits.
