Quote: The old-timers say 1/3 of the post length if I remember right. Most of mine aren't that deep due to the rock. If the fence is to be permanent, pour dry Sacrete right out of the bag, tamping it down to full depth. and let it set for 48 hours. The Sacrete draws enough moisture from the surrounding ground to set up, saving the hassle of mixing up batches of wet concrete. The posts aren't going anywhere. I have posts that I set 20 years ago like that that are still as tight as the day I set them.

I put 80-120 pounds in each of my holes for my cattle chute.

As I sit here drinking my first cup of hot coffee in four long days, I am pondering.
Did I really walk into the run, and almost grab that stupid jerk that avoided the cone yesterday?

Do I really get to can a ton of meat today? Meat that will see me through when funds are low, or I just want something quick to make?

I LOVE having fresh meat!

And now that I can fumble through getting it, I am just so darn happy!

Very warm, and smelly

Interesting!

Made them myself. Had a factory set up in the back of my cave

Wow!

I prefer money checks (?)

I was just siting here, trying to get my arms comfortable on the desk. They are healing. I will survive.  And meanwhile I will be in some discomfort, and never do that again.

You are certainly quacking up a storm today! Is it coincidence, or is it just that freeing to be rid of all those boys?
