Morning MC! Whom else is awake? I awoke without my alarm in time to go to work on my flipping vacation. Oh my, Fester, Lurch and Stumpys are fast on the choir today. My little guy can't get a turn in the crowing choir yet.

OK I am confused, who is Benny? Y'all know nicknames or real names for each other and I have yet to learn those. Bit of an info overload I have going with work and school so I have moments now that it takes longer to sink in. Been getting training on a lathe the past few days and then taught to grind my own cutting tools. Really hope my brain doesn't get overwhelmed.

I cannot get over my ducklings! The real Banti (male) will be going to a farm soon to take the place of another Pekin. I am not ready for that yet though!

Why? Well, I am so glad you asked!
While the dog curled up in my blanket heap on the bed, I went outside to watch the sunrise and drink my coffee (I stepped in duck poop wearing flip flops

) I saw that no one was outside in the run yet, so as I opened the door, I called softly to my drake. I heard his eager response as he rushed through the coops (from the attached duck pen and through the chicken pen). I fed and got the hose to give water. It is kinda funny having your hand in the food with two ducks eating around you!
Then I heard the poults. I turn around, and those two ducklings had come out with their brood.

I wasn't sure if the poults were still attached to the ducklings. Apparently they are very much so!
I went to shut off the hose, and as I turned back around, the ducklings were headed for the baby pool I had just finished refilling. The babies running after them! Stephen Tyler (rooster) had just come outside, and was standing next to the one SPR that was last to get out of the food. That chick ran after the others, screaming, "Wait! Wait! I wasn't done eating!!"

So, I am afraid if I let Banti go now, the babies and Christopher (the girl) will be traumatized.

LOL! Do your Peking get along with your chickensmoker? We tried some Khaki Campbells and they kept trying to drown my more timid birds. They were rehomed ASAP. I like duck, roasted and smoked but those were not grown enough. You do not mess with my Cochins.Evil darn ducks.

Good morning! I have one peeping from inside the egg! My dog on the other hand is driving me nuts! Think she has upset tummy, she is farting up a storm, been out 4 times in an hour just to hear her pass gas. Surprisingly she hasn't rocketed across the yard.

You can call her RPD- rocket propelled Dog!

Yes, the Pekins and Muscovies get along with the chickens. I have never had anyone try to drown anyone. Though the drake does seem to come close when mating the duck in the water.

I think I am going to just can the duck that I have resting in the fridge. I saw a good casserole, and I think I will try it.
I can roast duck the next time I have too many.
