I like the Dom barring way better than the BR barring.
Barring is a dominant gene in chickens so if either parent has it it'll show up in the chicks.i have 2 birds with barring, just curious, but mine are mutts as far as i know, one has a beard so i know its an ee
BR barring is in straight lines.looks the same to me![]()
oh, silly, i am not the biggest fan of barringBarring is a dominant gene in chickens so if either parent has it it'll show up in the chicks.

I moved my teenage hens with the rest of the laying hens once I got rid of the roo. I have 2 BRs and 1 Dom, and from a distance I can't tell them apart. Up close, they are quite a bit different. I'll try to get a photo of them together. My dom is only 6 months old, BR about 1 1/2 years, so biggest difference is size. I haven't paid much attention to the actually barring. Just the combs, the body style and the way they stand.I like the Dom barring way better than the BR barring.
Yes from a distance it's hard to tell the difference. Up close though there's a huge difference even in the barring.I moved my teenage hens with the rest of the laying hens once I got rid of the roo. Just the combs, the body style and the way they stand.
