Why do you want to hit the hay? Did it do something wrong? To make all the mice jump out? Good night, beautiful! :hugs

Very cute! What breed? Keep an eye on the paper towel to keep it damp
Good night all! I'm thinking I just killed 2 day old babies. I snuck them under a broody that is sitting on infertile eggs. I took 10 of her eggs and snuck in the 2 babies. They wanted to burrow under her, she pecked at them a few times, then let them burrow. She is a first time broody, but has been sitting for more than a month. There are 2 others brooding. Also on infertile eggs. I have some day 16 eggs, should I sneak some of those under them? Or will they eventually realize nothing is hatching and get back to normal?
I think it sounds like she accepted them ok, the other ones I would try babies as well depending on how long they've been setting and if u have the chicks-don't u always have chicks lol
And by breaking them, she means, breaking the broody hens, not the eggs.
and by breaking a hen we are talking about snappin her out of being broody by cookout her underside not actually breaking her Lol
Good luck on your broody..I just put 5 babies under mine. Well, I put 7 at first..she did NOT like the two silkies. I had to take them out. Not sure why???? Anyway, she's been a wonderful first time mom once we took care of that little problem.
cute! Congrats!
Shalom liz Do you hunt?
I go out with my family but I cannot carry a firearm o haven't taken the state required classes, but they also haven't shot anything in a really long time, I think my husband is close to 12 years without shooting a deer
Good morning Have a nice breakfast, be kind to your body!

Looks delicious! :drool
Is anyone here familiar with the Aloha chicks breed? There is an add on Craigslist in my area that is selling aloha chicks for $1 each. Is this a good deal? Are they good breeds for the heat? Are they good egg layers? Also, a family member is moving, and is giving me their 2 goslings. Can I let a broody hen raise them and then let them live with my chickens? Or will they not get along? Thanks!
i think fireantfarm is the only one with aloha experience but I probably wouldn't ask her
Exciting news: Just heard the first peep from my li'l batch o' incubating eggs. Now to wait and see if the peeps turn into healthy chicks.
Yayyyyyyy :fl
A dollar is always good. You can give the goslings to any critter (not a snake. Snakes are bad babysitters. Or an elephant) that will accept them.
an elephant would be fine!
