Morning @Chaos18 :frow Morning ALL! I have been trying to catch up from yesterday, took me an hour. LOL! (or longer) I decided to just bite the bullet and stick my teenagers in with the big girls yesterday evening. They are almost 12 weeks old now, and previous attempts have failed. No blood shed, but the big girls bullied them into a corner and they wouldn't come out. I went out at bedtime and moved them into the coop they've been sleeping in and opened the access door to the big run so that this morning they could wake up and go out into the big run with the big girls. Went out to check on them this morning and they refuse to get out of the coop. LOL! I added a waterer in there for them and some feed and I am just hoping they go out and the big girls don't kill them while I'm at work today. The funniest thing happened last night with them though, my little rooster (I guess maybe he is bantam sized cause he is tiny compared to his hatch mates), anyway, one of the big girls picked a fight with him and he ran in circles until she was dizzy and then when she finally got a good angle on him to peck him, he ran straight under her legs and behind her. LOL! He's a wild little thing... he is the one that hatched from the blue egg that I thought was a cream legbar, don't know what he is, but he's comical and his comb is so huge now that it flops over and covers one of his eyes nearly! With his hatch mates, that I also don't know what they are (they were supposed to be Swedish Flowers).

CC you are a knowledgeable men, look at all history and even in prehistory people ALWAYS fight for resources and the only difference is the definition of what is a resource! In your grate country in the prierris the different Indian ( is it OK yo say Indian or mus l say Native American? )tribes fight each other, the Comanche killd the Siux, and they both killed the Sheyenne ect, ect The French killd the Spanish and they were both Catholic This story wil never end.......
I'm Indian. Not Native American.
Whoo! Good for you!

someone else just said they were setting for the full moon like you
...
I saw that. Actually I'm not setting for the full moon but so they will hatch under a waxing moon in the fruitful sign of Scorpio.
At my latitude and longitude, they need to hatch between 23:51 August 8 and 12:23 August 11 when the moon enters Sagittarius.
Hatching under a waxing moon in the fruitful signs of Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces, chicks are supposed to be more vigorous.

Morning @Chaos18

He got crossed up with something.
I had some chicks I was growing out and thought I had a mature pullet that got into the building somehow.
The comb was huge and flopped over. The only males on the property are Black Penedesencas with a huge erect carnation comb. The hens' combs are supposed to flop over like that. This bird had a huge flopped over comb. However, I had hatched a couple eggs out of my whitish Ameracauna with a pea comb. Then I noticed all the rooster feathers. He was her son.
Crossed up genes yield surprises.
He actually looked just like your bird but all black. I hope he's delicious.

I am sooo hungry now.
This is the product. It is expensive but worth every savory bite.
http://www.aidells.com/product/116
Take a look at the other chicken sausages and meatballs they have.
There are no artificial ingredients, no MSG, no nitrites, gluten free, minimally processed.

@ChickenCanoe So far nothing has left any signs of attempting to breach my hc skurted pens. I don't know if there's anyone I trust to remember to open and shut three coops. If they forget in this heat without food and water that would be a disaster too.
The more coops, the harder it is to find someone to chicken sit.
Fingers crossed that they will be fine.

Boy, isn't that the truth.

I used to think that was why many of the New Yorkers and New Jerseyans I knew were a++holes because there were too many people packed into too small of space and had to be overly aggressive because they had to fight for space.

We say Indian and native American. It's weird how they got called Indians in the first place. When Columbus landed, he thought he circumnavigated the globe and landed in India. The name stuck.

Funny thing is that the Sioux is a name given to them by the French. It loosely means savages or snakes. At the same time, the Sioux name for themselves was "The Peaceful Ones". The three groups that make up the Sioux are Lakota, Dakota and Nakota. Those are linguistically unique parts of the same people and those words mean 'friend'. My nephew was married to a full blooded Lakota Sioux. They had 3 children. She died of alcoholism.
