I just wanted to say that my Styrofoam chicken executioner (AKA LG) is doing its job. 33 eggs in it and when I went to turn a bit ago, it was 104.9 at mid egg level. It is a wonder anything hatches out of there. The lid has been off for about 20 minutes or so.

I don't have that kind of time today. I have to muck out the chicks coop, feed and water everyone for the day, move 2 batches of chicks out to join the others and try to improve the latches before I have to leave for the pool tournament. I don't think I'll get it all done in time. I have a little over an hour.
Maybe I'll just check feed levels and change out water, forget mucking out, legband and throw them in there. At a heat index of 106, I need a good shower before I go and try to stop somewhere on the way to get a couple practice games in.

After 30 minutes of the lid off and 80F in the room, the temperature was still 97 when I covered it again. Those eggs must have been hot.
