Y'all will probably swear I'm nuts, but my BR is not air conditioned. We have a window shaker that we used to use there, but I'd rather open the 3 windows for cross-ventilation & crank the ceiling fan into high gear; lot cheaper than running an extra AC unit. DW's BR, on the other hand, is like a walk-in freezer.

No AC!!! eeeeeekkkkk no wonder she has her own bedroom!!!! I like to sleep in the cold, in winter too!!!

I can't seem to find the last hatcher list I did. It won't come up on search.

I know I have done one since 7\16....... That one is very out of date.

Does this chick look malpositioned in the shell and that it needs help? The pip had a toe coming through and I read it may not be able to get out because of that so I enlarged the hole to see what's going on. None of the others have unzipped yet either. These ducks are very important so Im not open to "just leaving them" to not hatch since they're alive. Advice please. It seems the more I read on BYC the more conflicting information I find!

you took that much shell off it will probably need help at this point, it looks like it had bright red blood yet? sometimes you can see how thick the veins are via candling, also you can watch the yellow part of the egg aka the yolk by candling the bottom. these are good indications as to how far it is. Otherwise you see any thing bright red blood let it alone, they will get thin like hair and pinkish when absorbed, nothing in the veins.

Bad luck here on my vacation hatch. Just candled on day 7, and had 12 clears and 1 that looks to be an early quitter. My SIL has used the incubator twice before, also with bad results. We did not calibrate the thermometer, could this be the cause?

Woke up to find 2 more in the bator,count is now 10. My son is to keep an eye on it during my work hours, we shall see if he does.
