Morning Uncle Pen

She was trying to be nice. If people knew that your incubators had been off for a while, they might attack.
They are welcome to try it.

Nope. It took a while before you tagged me with an update.
Entirely possible.

Not near fast enough. Happens when you get older. Lol Breakfast done. Scrambling eggs for chickens then out of here. Oh and empty dishwasher Your pond sounds like it will look good. I've got to get mine started back up. Drained it because my well was right by it. City water now so I can have pond back. They are quite a bit of work though and that backhoe of yours sounds really good. Slow or not
I am going to try to get pictures to share this morning
I can ride my bike either direction on my road to a source and be back in 6 minutes. However, it's difficult to carry a 30 pack on a bike. If I don't look across the street, just look back or side to side, I'd think I was in the middle of nowhere but I'm close to everything. I love camping but why do people do it in July and August? When camping, I hate bugs and I hate to sweat. Both are always part of a July/August camping trip. October/November and March/April are my preferred time to camp. Even December is nice. Just dress warmer and build a bigger fire. No bugs, no sweat. Not bad at all. I had a very late night. I got up early to make coffee, tea and turn eggs. Then I lounged on the couch watching the Walking Dead. We were the last team to be assigned a table. We won our first round 9-4. Winner is first team to 9 wins. In our second round we got behind 5-1 but came charging back and we were down 8-7. One of our all-stars was down to the 8 ball and missed. His opponent got his last 2 balls in and missed the 8. The 8 was in the corner and our guy missed bouncing the ball around the corner. Then they won, knocking us out of the tournament. The worst part was that the other guy was a real jerk. Every time he missed, he yelled at his girlfriend like it was her fault. I wanted him to lose so badly. Had we won that game and the next, we would have been one of the 8 four man teams playing today. All teams playing today win money. If you win today's 3 rounds, money could go up to $4k. Then the winner of the 4 man tournament plays the winner of the 5 man and the winner of that gets around 8k. First match, I won 2, lost 1 (scratched on the 8) Second match, I was 1 and 1. I sat out 2 rounds but I should have played cause a couple of our guys had been drinking a long time - it was 10 PM. I drank mostly water during the day. You're right, they're likely yellow jackets. However, you DON'T mess with a hive after dark. I can open a hive and pull frames on a warm sunny day with no protection or smoke. If I attempt to open the hive at dusk, the bees pour out and attack with a vengeance.
your bicycle needs a milk crate That pool hall is HUGE, sounds like your team did very well sorry you didn't win but at least you had fun
theyre so tiny!!!
Hi All, 400 posts behind, no hope of catching up! I hope everyone is staying cool in this hot weather! The Sand Fire is burning north of me, sad that 17 structures have burned, as has 1 body. They found him next to a burned house. No smoke in my direction, but we drove through the area yesterday and the skies were nasty. But the guy at the start of this video is NUTS!
Scary, stay safe!!!
Bad luck here on my vacation hatch. Just candled on day 7, and had 12 clears and 1 that looks to be an early quitter. My SIL has used the incubator twice before, also with bad results. We did not calibrate the thermometer, could this be the cause?
Probably, that stinks :hugs
Last summer when it got so hot in Missouri, one woman started freezing bowls of ice and putting them out for the squirrels in her yard. This little guy was so grateful, he fell asleep cooling off on top of one.
so cute!! Good morning Sunshine!!
thank you, good morning!!!!!

Incubating W/ Friends Hatcher list

Birthdays:

Sally Sunshine
My fan took a crap in the blue bator, lost half the eggs, so down to about 15 or so eggs of all my breeds

BantyChooks AKA Banti or Bubbles
Nothing, bators are off 'till next year. And I'm NOT giving eggs to my broodies, before you ask..... Nope, nope, nope! *hides*

Chaos18 AKA Trouble or Chaos
Bators are for the time being.

MotorcycleChick AKA MC or Abi
22 total Silver Pencil Rock eggs set 7/8 The girls are sharing a nest again, so they only have four. The other 18 are in the incubator. *Update* I have 16 eggs left in the incubator and three under the girls.

kwhites634 AKA Whites, Whitey, Ken, Red Dog..... Just not late for supper
@kwhites634 I am vewwy sorry but I lost your update, would you please tag me again?

daxigait AKA Dax or Daxi
Broody has eight eggs 6/24, but I don't know how many are fertile since my cockerels are young and only with the hens on the odd evening. Green egg layers CL over OE/BSL/BR/RIR.
*Update*
One more week for my broody, but it is supposed to be really hot (heat index today 107 for example). hatch 14/15

Jessimom AKA Kathy
I have 14 BCM that gotro17 had shipped, 4 legbars (I think were also shipped), along with I think 12 of my backyard chicken eggs - these are on day 10. And I set 28???? eggs 2 days ago. It's a mix of gotro17's backyard mix eggs, and mine. I'll do an accurate count if I ever candle them.

Mine are probably not all fertile, Since we pulled the roosters several weeks ago, and the baby roos were just starting to figure out how to play with the girls when they started to crow and got pulled.. I currently have a BEAUTIFUL Salmon Favorelle and 2 black silkie roos in my basement. Waiting until I figure out what we are going to do with them.

I also have 2 broodies sitting on eggs. Not sure how far along, or how many eggs. They both should be getting close though.

Pensmaster Known as Uncle Pen to some, Pensmaster to the rest
13 Altsterier eggs under broody. Started 6-24. Three candled yesterday when the hen got off for water all three growing beautifully. Surprised as they were abandoned a couple times and eggs were washed. Hen is still with the eggs. Due on Friday.
Update:
I have 12 more Altsterier eggs going under another broody tonight.

mlm Mike AKA Mike or Mikemikemikemikemike

Leave a LightOn
Six LF Wheaten Ameraucana under bantam D'uccle since 6/27. Broody holding tight day 11. No leakers or stinkers. One poopy and cleaned today.

@Leave a LightOn I am sooo vewwy sorry but someting happend and your update isn't here anymore, and I can't find where you tagged me in the huge mess that is my email, so if you would please tag me AGAIN with your hatch results that'd be great.

danielkbrantley

got a dozen mutt eggs and 11 of 12 hatched out. The first hatched Thursday evening around 11:30 p.m. Three more hatched overnight. Another hatched in the morning while I let the big girls outta the coop, and the other six hatched throughout the day. They're now in the brooder and are painfully cute. My girls (human daughters) have been oohing and aahhhing all day.

I used a borrowed LG still air and bought an egg turner to make life easier. Kept it at 99-100 on my digital thermo and 101-102 on the (non-digital). Humidity first couple weeks was 45 or so, then let it drift down to 35 until late on day 18, when I amped up the humidity to 63-65%.

And I am still in shock that it worked so well and so...easily...

Thanks all for your help! If you scan through this thread long enough, you'll see how uninformed I was prior to this. Your help has been irreplaceable!

Thanks a million,

Daniel

Note: I am very sorry (cue Calvin and Hobbes' very sorry song

) but something happened with the updates and I lost a bunch of them and I can't find them again......
