102 and humidity 17. Was supposed to be cooler.

We haven't had 17% humidity in at least a year or more.

11 PM now. 79F and 78% humidity.

Hi all! Haven't been on BYC in a long while since I sold my chickens a year ago. We bought 75 New Hampshire Reds earlier this year (now down to 70) so I can gladly say we're back in business! About a year and a half ago I hatched off approx. 250+ ducks, 3 geese, and 600+ chicks throughout the summer and fall months. I used styrofoam incubators at the time, but they were hard to sanitize and had limited space. I plan on building my own incubator from broken refrigerator and would gladly welcome any tips/tricks/advice etc.

Figure out what you'll do for a viewing window in the hatcher compartment. Fan location, location, location.

At 10:00 it's 77 with 83% humidity!!! Yuck

It's amazing how uncomfortable 77 is with that humidity.

I like the Ameraucanas for strength of bird over Orpington's just one opinion.

We now have more fires in the area probably directly due to low humidity

That is dry stuff.
