Quote: I'm contemplating using corrugated metal panels, with a couple clear plastic (vinyl, if available) ones for light. I don't think it comes in 4' widths, though, which would mean more trusses; that might be the deciding factor.
Quote: I appreciate it. I'm glad I have access to guys that know more about this sort of thing than I do. What little I've picked up through the years is mostly the result of trial & error, which mounts up & invariably increases the bottom line.
Sounds like a Brinsea mini advancedI'm not sure I'm using a friend it only holds 7 eggs n it's clear black and yellow and dome shaped she's has very good hatch rate with it

Quote: I originally planned 16" centers, like the walls, but carpenter BIL said 24" would be good. Yeah, we get snow, occassionally a foot or more, but normally only 6" or so at a time...in north-central MD. Normally, I'd pick BIL's brain on the whole deal, but he has more side work than he'll ever live long enough to complete..only 6 months younger than I am. I hate to bother him.
I have 6 bantam eggs in my incubator I bought 1 egg of eac breed a lady had they hatch in 12 days

Yes big plans are to get too work.
One fire is out. Several more are going. So far we have been OK thankfully
When I get home from work I need to finish filling the dumpster my neighbor so nicely let me fill of all my would be projects that won't be. This might not get done.
So you have a project to get rid of your unfinished projects but even that project might not get finished?
The neighbor's guineas are in my yard, and scaring the poop out of the chicks. The moms were finally taking them for a walk (more than three feet from the coop door!) and the guineas showed up. I feel violated that I missed something so wonderful as the moms really free ranging with newborns because of a visiting flock of noise makers.
I had to get three chicks out of a pile of deer netting. That was actually funny They kept moving, and getting higher and higher in the air.![]()
I also sprung the trap while I was out there again. I want to catch a cat, but not during the day. Then again...
Maybe you could catch a guinea instead.
