Sorry it took me an extra day - but here's my almond flour shortbread cookies/ pie/ tart crust recipe.

Ingredients
  • 6 Tbsp butter
  • 2 cups almond flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sweetener (Splenda, Ideal, Swerve, etc.)
  • 1 tsp freshly grated lemon zest

Instructions
  • Melt the butter in the microwave or a small saucepan. Add the almond flour, sweetener, and lemon zest, stirring until fully combined.
  • To make a tart or pie crust:
  • No need to pre-chill, just press dough into tart or pie tins. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees (F) for 15 mins until firm and golden brown.
  • To make the cookies:
  • Form dough (it will be crumbly, this is normal) into a cylinder and wrap tightly with plastic wrap to compress. Chill in freezer for 30 minutes or until firm, or in the refrigerator for 2 hours. With a sharp knife, slice into 1/2 inch thick cookies (if they crumble apart your dough isn’t cold enough). Bake in a preheated oven @ 350 degrees (F) on a greased or parchment lined cookie sheet for 15 minutes, or until firm and golden brown. Allow to cool before removing.

Thank you. Sounds good.

That coop has something funny going on.in just learned this. This will be the 4th bird to get sick. 3 others have died. I am stumped as what is going on with them.

No poo, either. Only 1 coop affected.

Sounds like the coop needs to be disinfected.

If so how?

do you have any pics?? of the birds?

are they all the same age?

do their legs splay, or split??

I am not sure which, I don't want to go to her place risking bringing it home. She said her hen stands, falls over then one leg goes to the side.

Thank you Kathy, I will pass this on to her.

That sort of leg problem could be Marek's, but it's not common to have so many drop dead from Marek's so close together. Still possible, just not that common. Other diseases and/or vitamin deficiencies could also cause it.

-Kathy

Or a poisoning.

HI Benny! I sure hope not! She has a problem with her step son though.

It could be some mold toxins, or botulism, or some other bacteria that influence the neuro- muscular system

One rooster died Aug. 5, two hens passed in May.

She said her hen is doing somewhat better today. Waiting more info.
