I think they are - doesn't matter though - If I don't get rid of all my roosters, I lose any ability to have chickens at all. They have to go.

From my point of view there is no logic that a chicken grower,like you gives her roosters away, and go to the store and buy chicken for dinner. .....
You should overcom that barrier, I am sure you can!

I know I SHOULD, but it doesn't mean I can. I watched someone pluck some of my silkies, and gut them, but I can't kill and I can't gut. I wouldn't mind plucking. I just need to find someone else to do the killing part, and then hang around and do the gutting part....lol
