I have two growing out in the "dinner club." I'll post pics if they ever get done. DH told me the other day he'd rather take roos to auction than process them. :barnie I've spent weeks feeding them French toast and macandcheese to bulk them up! :lau

:lau. The dinner club!!! I love it! Sound like our DHs think alike. Bill complained about the little roos, the complained when I put them up for sale, then when they sold, he took the $ and bought rotisserie chicken at Costco! Finally, I've won the battle, I used his mechanical knowledge and competitive spirit to my advantage. I showed him videos of whizbang pluckers. "I bet you could build one nicer than that!" Guess what he's working on... (Insert maniacal laugh) :yesss:

That won't work for me. We have a friend with a nice big plucker: it'll clean two birds in about 30 seconds. So anything other than that will seem like too much work. Ironically, they think it's also too much work to set up for only 4 birds.

This is the one Bill is finishing today. So far the cost has been less than $100 because he has so much "stuff" in his shop. We're probably making a little fire pit out back next weekend. It will be big enough to set a large stock pot over for scalding. We have a small pit, and a propane burner, but we're planning ahead for a large pot. The first of the turkeys is about big enough to process.

Sorry to hear that.
Thank you.

to you too.

So do I put the food and water in the coop with the broody and eggs for when the chicks hatch, or do I put the food and water on the ground level where they have to get out of the coop to get feed/water?
