I don't know if I will incubate eggs again, but if I do I tell you what for 1 I will buy a quality incubator and not make one out of a Styrofoam cooler. And most importantly I will not EVER have a staggered hatch again (add new eggs to the incubator when others fail) because I've been hatching eggs since Wendsday night and I tell you what, I haven't gotten a bit of sleep! I've drank more coffee between 10-12 than I ever have in my life, ive worried about these little eggs to the point of which I question my sanity lol I don't know how yall do it! I'm exhausted and stressing and driving myself crazy all at the same time!

You have to remember some very important principles
1. Hatching is a hobby and if you don't enjoy it You should stop!
2. In the end we are talking about chickens and not your own flash an blood, so leave the worries aside, and enter to proportion.
3. You should learn the principles of successful hatching BEFOR you hatch and not while you ARE hatching.
4. Even if you act correctly Sh... will happen so take control on yourself and don't panic!

Well said. Shalom Benny.

I get that.

:ep No wonder you didn't comment.

The extra drakes are gone, and it is now time to start naming the permanent residents. The SPR teens are officially named.

I know how you feel!!!! I don't know why I do it either, but I both love it and drive myself insane at the same time. I'm pretty sure I wore a track around the table waiting for them to hatch..... I'm only just now going back to normal. And I love every bit of it and CAN'T WAIT to do it again. :weee

My wife just made some incredible Mexican style deviled eggs. Her normal ones are to die for but these took it up a notch.
Blended with the egg yolk is avocado, lime juice, serrano chili, chives, cilantro and salt.

Interesting, guess I would try them.

Our eggs are now 1 week old.

At least one is 100% viable with the proper blood veins and shadows. I have a hard time candling them, because the egg shells are so thick! But, my husband promises at least 3/4 of the others, appear viable right now to him, so we'll keep watching them and see how they develop.

The one that's cracked, that I used liquid bandage on, is too hard to tell, because it's pretty much 90% cracked in spiderweb cracks, making it hard to tell if it's viable or not. We'll be watching it, it's the only egg we had from her chicken that died, so i'm crossing my fingers it stays viable for her, so she can one baby from white freckles.
Good luck!

Rainy Sunday afternoon.

Not a dadgum thing wrong with the a/c unit; wall receptacle gone bad. Only lasted 43 years; don't make stuff the way they used to. Just for grins I grabbed a heavy duty extension & plugged in to another receptacle & a/c fired right up.
Even a blind pig finds an acorn once in a while.
Glad the AC is working for you!

The little chick passed about 15 minutes ago. Just finished burying it.

I hope you try again, the staggered hatch is rather rough to deal with.
