I'll try my hardest not to.

I've yet to see a hen candle an egg...maybe I'm just never there at the right time.
X2

Morning. Second egg wasn't as lively last night so I made an external pip for it. It got halfway zipped and died. Not shrink wrapped, yolk was absorbed, I think it just wasn't strong enough.

Here's some research info for you.

Finished up the truss I forgot two of the braces on yesterday. At a standstill now 'til Lowes tells me my lumber is ready for pickup. Seems I'm always waiting on Lowes
They won't call. Just call them. It's probably already ready. Do you have them pick it for you?

I have finally got my FIRST green egg from my rump less Aracaouna!
That's great.
If I had a rumpless, I'd expect a blue egg. Does it have muffs, tuffs or a beard?

I have a theory that the midlife crisis that many men experience araound the age of 40 is based on this mechanism. Ouer brain is Adjusts to resolve problems MOST men araound the age of 40, have solved the major challenges and problems of life. You have your companion for life, you have your own place, you have a stady income and your kids are not so little. and when there is no big challenge in the real world you invent imaginary problems! And those are the basis of the crisis! I don't have numbers but l think that men that are struggling for stady incom don't
Suffer from mid life crisis as more Wealthy individuals. Or in other words when you are poor you don't have time for imaginary problems!
Very astute and I think you have it nailed down.

I had a husband that went through a midlife crisis, he bought a boat and a motorcycle and started hanging out with the younger crowd, he eventually got a 21 year old pregnant which is why I said I HAD a husband! I think it's just an excuse men use. Kinda like how women blame thier time of the month on being witchy lol!
Very well said.

Isn't it more of the ability to buy the toys, a guy struggling finacilly might have the desire for the toys, just not the ability to buy them, then the midlife crises might be expressed in other ways?

...
That is true also.

For the handy types my washer leaked out from underneath when I used it Sunday. What should I check first after I pull it out and check the hoses?

@ChickenCanoe Nob, I have not checked yet. I got an offer from someone who has shown and bred for years who says he is getting old and chores harder so he is going to move to just a few bantams.
Good morning everyone.
hoses, fittings and the tub. Anything that holds water.

How long do I need to keep my broody and her chicks locked in the coop? I have them where they cannot get to the run portion right now (worried about them going up and down the ramp).

Also, how long to keep them separate from the whole flock?
I'd let them out now. They'll likely be able to follow her back in. If not you'll have to build different steps or ramp.
IMHO, the sooner they get with the flock the better. If you wait too long, like till they are weaned from her care, she won't protect them.
Just make sure the flock isn't eating layer feed.

I hope nobody minds if i show off some of my flock

Aside from the broody mamas, these are all babies from this spring/early summer. Sorry for so many pictures!
I don't think anybody here minds pictures of birds.
You have a lot of polish cockerels.

So have you called them yet?
