Good morning everyone.

@kwhites634. I have never seen a back quarter look like that either. It is like it got some other issues while she was so sick. I asked about if we needed to open it somehow because the back is really hard. She said she does not like to cut into mammory glands and it is better to let
That's bad enough, but I was looking at that front quarter, that looks like its shriveled up.
it open up where it needs to to let the gunk out. You can't get it out through the teat. We tried hot towels and massages for over a week. I just have to use gloves, lean it up and get what I can put where it opens and flush it with hydrogen peroxide. I feel rather helpless, but the rest if her health is finally improving and she is gaining weight again. It has two places that have opened up several days apart. That photo is last night with the new spot with an inch or two of that thick gunk oozing out. Though it is so thick and gunky it really does not ooze. That is half the problem, whatever happened with the treatment, it formed that gunk and it was impossible to get out through the teat.
It is thick like a tacky toothpaste or wormer.

Sorry I got a phone call just after my earlier post on as I got home. I went out to do chores and found my doe with a second opening in her udder oozing that crud. Between that, chores, and catching up I am just getting to it, and I really need to get to bed.

Computer says you are online. Just wanted to thank you for being calm and wise.
If my bird was so injured, I would be panicking. Your matter of fact approach is necessary to assist injured animals. Thanks

Thank you for your words.
1. Don't always believe what computers have to say!
2. Panic never helps to get out from dire situation it just worsen them.
