Paddler there are only a few, HOWEVER those few are some big customers in my area over here......

Thanks for posting. I have that same list. I thought it may have changed.

I was advised not to test for AI because of the rarity of my birds. If they showed antibodies for a virulent strain of AI, the state would euthanize the whole flock - even though they were immune. Because of their rarity, there would be no opportunity to replenish the flock regardless of how much money I had.
I'll just be satisfied with not shipping to Virginia or West Virginia.

We're all good. Enjoying a lazy rainy Sunday.

Y'all?
Glorious dry cool sunny day - third day straight. Summer returns tomorrow.

not enjoying, trying to get caught up on a few things outside. Not getting enough done

Same here.

We have an air popper. So easy! It's a Sunday night fave.
Air popper would be great. I use either an organic cold pressed coconut oil or grapeseed oil. Both have a high smoke temp.

Buck and Whether pen almost done... door on they cried for a bit but now seem ok

Splendid thought.

We actually didn't get enough to make the apple butter. Strange year. Things got too hot for them I think
Bummer.
We used to make apple butter every autumn in a big copper kettle over a wood fire. I still have the paddle but I don't know who got the kettle.

No caterpillar here. Just don't think the trees get the proper chill hours. The heat has them falling off trees too soon. Prefer they get more sugar than they have on the tree not in storage.
Perhaps pull all the fruit after flowering one year to allow the trees to store energy for the following year.

I put some sacrifice birds in with my quarantine silkie, for company. ...
Good plan. I do that.

Anyone read about this?

A friend called me yesterday when he saw it on CNN. Another lady lost 68 colonies.

Southern Florida won't have any honeybees for a while.

I had 3 good hives one day and the next day the ground was covered with dead bees under one of the hives.
I guess the scouts sent the foragers to someone's yard that had sprayed for insects.
Big loss.
It used to be easy but between proliferation of pesticides/insecticides, GMO crops, small hive beetles, varroa mites, nosema, American and European foulbrood, ants, etc. - it's a tough gig.

The wholesale price of honey has gone up 1,000% in recent years.
If you can keep a hive alive from one year to the next, there can be a profit but 33% of all colonies are lost every year.

Yeah, the end is near; only 3 trusses, 10 sheets of 1/2" plywood sheathing, more hurricane clips, tar paper, shingles, gutters, doors, some sort of windows, T-111 siding, ramps to go yet.....I think that light at the end of the tunnel is an out-of-control freight train
