I didn't want to either. Then I had to. Glad I did. Nothing like I thought it would be.
Considering that a year ago, I would NEVER have done this, I think plucking is ok to start. Before this, I gave away about 60 roos. But, I finally figured that I should get SOMETHING out of it. But that is AWESOME that you went and took care of it by yourself!!! I am not sure I will be able to do the same....
You will! It is just changing your set of mind!
There is no logic in the fact of growing roos, then give them away and then going to the market to buy a chicken for supper. .....
I absolutely love your duck. I wish I had that talent. It is so beautiful! I would buy one that's forsureThe very first piece I ever did under the tutelage of Royal Katiyo and Gedion Nyanhongo of Zimbabwe. My block of stone duck I left part of the original rough stone to show what I started with.![]()

Here's Gedion's studio. http://www.gedionnyanhongo.com/ and Royal's works http://www.guruve.com/Gallery/Artists/royal-katiyo Gedion was inspiring, most of his works are huge. Royal was a perfectionist and a slave driver. I thought I was done and he had me sanding another day and a half. No power tools allowed, just chisels mallets and sandpaper. They are both great guys.
