@ChickenCanoeThat is the only thing I don't like. Since they don't have a lock I built my one door on the inside so it goes four directions well past the opening so nothing can get to an egde. I then put a second manual door on the outside that I can close at will. I am still working on the what I want with the aluminum door I bought, but it goes nown behind a price of wood and is in the rails. I would like to cover the string more in case something figures out how to raise it by the string, but I don't think they could do that. All of my coop doors are inside hardware cloth runs with two foot skirts so getting in the run and the coop would be a project.

If the glass is always half full then the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

The word redundancy should ring a bell to you!
The glass is in the size it should be! It is just a precaution step, to prevent spilling of the fluid du to an unexpected heat surge that will increase the fluid volume! ( sorry needed to find some kind of an explanation! )
