Sorry the coffee is late. Blame Chaos!
But you like Chaos, so if I blame him, you'll yell at me.

I'm on the list again!! Good morning MC!

I swear-I'm kinda old but my grandma used whiskey for everything and I turned out ok... (as i sit here with a bottle of wine....) But the alcohol in a shot of jack does the same thing as alcohol in cough syrup-relaxes smooth and striated muscles, slows breathing and helps you sleep. (maybe not jack or a whole shot but whiskey tea honey and lemon is an age old remedy!) I remember her rubbing it on my gums when I was teething. ahh what I wouldn't do to go back to the good old days lol.
I agree with this completely

ps whats up with all you guys in PA and ducks!!! lol
ROFL!!!

I want some ducks!!!!!
Get some!!

Babies got to spend most of the day outside swimming and playing today. The chickens discovered then and really had no clue what they were looking at lol

So cute!!

Sorry to hear about your predator attack.
Thanks, i had bear in the spring, then we saw a bob cat last week, now this

I know Liz was looking for the frizzle gene chart, my daughter wants to add frizzles into her flock. I don't think I ever saw it.... did she ever find/post it?
i was going to try again today but now you have it, do you want me to link it to your thread??

I'm not very good at candling. I can't really figure out what i'm looking at, even with pictures. and with my hand coordination, i'm really afraid of dropping them, if I hold them for too long. I was going to let my husband look at the air cells if I can get him to hold still long enough to do it for me.

Funny. :P
i hope he can help you out

This is an easily read and understood conversation about FRIZZLE GENE, @BantyChooks

Thanks Sally!!

Thanks, I think they'd look even more beautiful with Anconas!

Just gotta wait till spring.... Be good.... Wait.... Good things take time....
What about Calls??

Oh, I know that. (which is why i'm going to try to get my hubby to check for me.) I don't know how you guys take pictures of eggs being candled. But i'm glad the pictures exist, because it's the only reason I knew we had 2 viable eggs out of the 6, and 1 managed to hatch!

Although.... once the chick filled the entire egg... we couldn't see crap anymore the egg shell from our chicken was so thick. I was almost afraid she wouldn't be able to get out!

We never could see a heart beat, or any of the more obvious signs of life. We saw veins, and then the egg got completely dark besides the aircell. (But, since the changes were drastic, every few days, I figured the egg was viable.)

I'm really not sure what i'm looking at though, even after looking at pictures of other eggs, I just don't have enough experience yet.
I cant really figure it out either but i still try lol

Awesome link/explanation. I'm going to give my kids a lesson on genes today, using some of this since my daughter wants frizzles in her flock.

Awesome Good Luck!!!

So the dogs and the neighbor hood Cat I thought got all the sapphire babies, HarmonyAnn found one huddled at the door huddled freezing, she is in the boobs area trying to warm up at the moment, she is soaked, but wrapped in a rag and now sleeping. ughhhh I have no clue how they got out unless they can still squeeze through the fencing or I am missing a broken link in the fence.

wondering if I should just let her sleep or try some warm electrolytes or wait. she finally stopped shivering hate to wake her up. I feel so bad for her ughhh

poor thing

Okay, I went ahead and ordered the flashlight from amazon, it should be here friday.

;)
lol

Gotta take care of critters & make breakfast... Sally, I'll do those posts when I get back. BBL

That I still can't do, you know that. Flying, noisy critters are a no-no.... Especially with the possibility of that neighbor coming back. They'd be dead in a matter of days.
Mine flew away from being eaten yesterday so i am happy with them but wish they would make some noise

Amazon isn't addicting. Nooooooo!
It totally is... after stealing my husbands shoes for the last few months, I finally broke down and bought my own pair of crocs... but I still like his better. LOL They arrived last night.

The ones I got are like a cheap imitation. haha

I have mucking/rain boots, but I'm a fan of crocs. Just rinse them off and they are as good as new.

I also ordered some wooden eggs, to put into our coop - and my husband put a thing of hog fencing over the door, to keeep the goats out of the coop now. I even managed to get my oldest to clean the coop floor out last night! Woot!

He tried to tell me "Why should I clean the coop, these aren't my chickens."

I told him his chickens would be sharing the coop and he tried to tell me "so, once my chickens are living in the coop, i'll clean it then."

I told him I wouldn't put his chickens in there, if the coop wasn't clean, and if his sister cleaned the coop this time, all the chickens r belong to her! (Gamer lingo)

He cleaned it.
